Thursday morning is waffle morning! After a hearty breakfast we dropped Andrea and Jayson off at the Mall and Michael and I went to play tennis. It was a cool, cloudy and breezy morning but the tennis was hot! We had a great time and as always Michael prevailed – 7-5 and 3-2 (we got kicked off the court by the high school security officer before we could finish the second set). After a scrumptious chicken enchilada lunch (seriously, all we do is eat and I love it) everyone pretty much drifted off to sleep and that’s where we are in this blog. Be back soon with more amazing adventures and stories.
Okay so it's a new day. We set off bright and early Friday so that we could stop in Toppenish to visit family friends, stop by the Columbia River Temple and then push through to Ontario, Oregon in time to attend Jordan and Tori’s wedding reception. Toppenish was great. Of course we couldn’t leave Maurine and Bobcat’s home without a big dish of homegrown watermelon or the Pettingill’s without apples. We took a detour at Dairymaid for fresh cheese curds and ice cream. That meand that we only had time for a quick stop and picture at the Columbia River Temple, then we pushed on to Ontario arriving at the Church at 7:30 PM. Just in time to greet family and watch the bride and groom cut the wedding cake. So cute!
Our hotel room next to the truck stop was… well… it was sort of clean. But we were too tired to care. Friday we said - see ya wouldn’t want to be ya to Ontario and headed to the Boise Temple. We enjoyed our time so much. Our final road trip stop was another Diner’s, Drive-ins & Dives pick – the West Side Drive In. Get this – they serve prime rib, steak fingers and killer sweet potato fries. Loved it!
The Twin Falls Temple was next on the list and again, it was another wonderful experience. Well, a couple more hours and we’ll be home. We figure that in its entirety we will have traveled nearly 3000 miles - crazy. But what’s not to love about sharing part of our road trip with Andrea and Jayson? Between trivia questions like, “What President was also a Chief Justice?” to the Alphabet Game and I’m Thinking Of… the time went by so fast. We had a great time guys and we just want to say: thanksabunchamus and infinity-mucho-merci-beaucoup-a-loop-a-nus!!!
